Ignas Jurkonis and Vasilij Barinov are the co-founders of the Project.
Ignas, a passionate car enthusiast, collector, and entrepreneur based in the USA, envisioned this exclusive project as a way to preserve and elevate the purest examples of the legendary W463 G55 AMG.
Vasilij, based in the Netherlands, brings expertise and a shared commitment to excellence, helping shape the studio’s operations and uncompromising quality standards.
Together, they lead the mission to give deserving vehicles the respectful second life they were always meant to have — creating a strictly limited collection masterpieces for like-minded purists and collectors. With a deep appreciation for the historical significance, engineering excellence, and timeless character of these icons, the founders ensure every detail reflects the highest level of craftsmanship and authenticity.
Alexander Schmidt – Chief Engineer
Alexander Schmidt is the technical heart and mastermind of every build. A legendary figure in Mercedes-Benz engineering with more than 20 years of experience in high-performance autosports — including competing in the demanding Dakar Classic Rally with Mercedes trucks — he brings unparalleled hands-on expertise in precision engineering, diagnostics, and extreme-condition vehicle optimization.
As Chief Engineer, Alexander personally oversees the entire manufacturing process at our Augsburg facility (G-Klasse Schmidt / Alexander Schmidt Studio). His philosophy of absolute authenticity, meticulous hand-assembly, and superior protective techniques ensures every G55 AMG not only looks factory-fresh but exceeds original standards in durability and quality.

Mercedes-Benz
Official protocols, OEM parts, documentation & final verification partner. We follow Mercedes-Benz detailed factory technical protocols to match each G55 AMG to “as new” condition. Mercedes-Benz supplies us with genuine new OEM parts as well as historical and current documentation, registrations, and supporting paperwork. Final verification of every completed vehicle is performed by Mercedes-Benz at their historic Stuttgart Untertürkheim Plant.
G-Klasse Schmidt

G-Klasse Schmidt, led by Alexander Schmidt, is a highly specialized workshop in Diedorf (near Augsburg), Bavaria. Known as the “G-Klasse DNA Factory,” the studio focuses on correct, documented, and historically accurate rebuilds of Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles. Their deep expertise in original specifications and meticulous assembly is central to hand-built masterpieces.
Based in Welzheim, Germany, Lennartz-Technik is one of the leading specialists for Mercedes-Benz G-Class off-road equipment and high-performance components. They designed and manufactured the iconic portal axles and central tire inflation system used in the legendary Mercedes-AMG G 63 6x6. They also produce premium suspension systems for G-Class models, including the G 500 4x4².

They excel in complete engine reproduction of original engine components, and service of high-performance AMG engines (including legendary M117 Hammer engines). Their expertise is widely recognized in the top-tier Mercedes tuning scene, including projects with Brabus.
